“Cadillac Interior Now Properly Outfitted”
An extensive update has been given to Cadillac’s smallest crossover SUV, the XT4, for the 2024 model year. Not seen since its launch in 2019, the new refresh is its most considerable one yet, offering a range of changes both aesthetically and internally. The last revamp was made available for 2022 models.
The XT4 boasts exterior updates evoking similitudes to the Lyriq with its signature vertical lighting cues. It flaunts a parametric grille boasting varied coatings for the Luxury, Premium and Sport packages. Wheel choices of diverse dimensions from 18 to 20 inches in diameter and new shades of Emerald Lake Metallic, Midnight Sky Metallic and Deep Sea Metallic embellish the model’s countenance.
Beneath the bonnet, the XT4 offers only a solo engine selection, a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder. That squashes any rumors that an XT4 sporting variant might be in the works. Maximum power remains untouched at 235 horsepower, empowering 258 lb-ft of torque going to either FWD or available AWD through a 9-speed automated gearbox. The Active Fuel Management allows for cylinder shut down for peak efficiency, whereas the Sports model involves an Active Sport Suspension for heightened ride and manipulation.
Notable updates inside the new XT4 entail an impressive 33-inch LED color touchscreen, paralleled to the one in the Lyriq. This is a substantial upgrade than the eight-inch unit found in its predecessor and, without a doubt, the greatest screen size available in this segment. Aside from providing 9K resolution, this curved monitor also offers cutting-edge features such as a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay & Android Auto with wireless performance, Google and Amazon Alexa integration.
Each level of trim has its own special amenities. The Luxury trim has Piano Black accents with laser engravings, whereas the Premium Luxury comes with either wood or aluminum finishes (according to colour combinations). On the Sport version, you’ll find genuine carbon fibre or real wood (depending on colour schemes). Additionally, all trims come with the Cadillac Smart System as standard which includes lane-change assistant, rear cross traffic braking, front pedestrian and cyclist braking, auto high beams, following distance notification, and an indicator for 2nd seat belt usage.
A capacity-filled Active Safety Package is included in both the Premium Luxury and Sport varieties; it featuring adaptive cruise control, intersection brake assistance, automated reversing braking, a full 360-degree camera system, rear pedestrian alert, improved lane keep assistance, speed limit recognition and traffic sign acquaintance.
The cost of the 2024 XT4 will be exposed prior to it being available for purchase this upcoming summer.
