Ford declared that the all-electric SuperVan 4 is enrolling in the historic one hundred first edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) in the year 2023. The colorful and renowned hill climb competition, which has been propelling on for over a century, is held around the Colorado Springs, Colorado territory. A plethora of Ford vehicles have taken part in the race many times over in years past, and this time, the business intends to break records via the super vehicle.
Romain Dumas, the record-holder of the PPIHC 2018 in the VW ID.R, will be the driver of SuperVan 4. The three time victor at Le Mans has numerous lap records powered by electric energy and has been participating at the PPIHC since 2012.
The ultra-potent Ford SuperVan 4 is equipped with a 50kWh all-wheel drive battery supplying it with unprecedented facets of electric power. Last year at the Goodwood Hill Climb, SuperVan was showing off its close to two thousand hp in absolute silence. Mark Rushbrook, who works as Global Director of Ford Performance Motorsports, has affirmed that the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the ideal arena for SuperVan 4’s debut.
“For decades, both electric and internal combustion vehicles have held a special place in the hearts of racing fans everywhere. Now, with the advent of cutting-edge electric vehicle technology, we are able to put it to the ultimate test on the mountain against some of the most impressive performance vehicles in the world,” commented Rushbrook. It is an exciting time for the industry, and one that promises to bring about a new era of thrilling racing experiences.
Melissa Eickhoff, the Executive Director of PPIHC, was full of vigor bounding the inclusion of Dumas in this year’s race. She has emphasised that he continually participates with custom-made cars which stand an excellent chance at success and are merry to behold; the Ford Performance SuperVan 4 being no exception and is bound to enthral the spectators!
