Every M Car: A Collector’s Dream

RM Sotheby’s has a treat especially for BMW M aficionados – an array of remarkable M cars that will be up for bidding at the Villa Erba sale in Lake Como, Italy. This event is to occur towards the end of May and will boast five iconic M vehicles.

Consecutively, the grouping presents a 1990 BMW M3 Sport Evolution (anticipated to reach €180,000-€220,000, or near $190,000-$230,000), a 2003 BMW M3 CSL (estimated at $127,000-$169,000), a 2010 BMW M3 GTS (predicted to cost $158,000-$211,000), a 2016 BMW M4 GTS (valued at $105,000-$158,000), and a 2022 BMW M4 CSL (guessed between $179,000-$243,000). Only 700 of the M4 GTSs emerged, and the turbocharged inline-six motor was enhanced with a water injection system which increased its power to 493 horsepower. Also for this iteration, parking sensors and a Professional navigation system were provided.

This brings us to the most recent M car of them all, namely the M4 CSL. It’s the first time the CSL badge has reappeared on a recently-produced model since the M3 CSL and exclusively 1,000 of the vehicles will be built. To make the autobahn rocket lighter than its M4 Competition counterpart, it sports a Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic bonnet as well as trunk cover, acoustic insulation has been lessened and a light titanium exhaust increases the advantage over its competition.
