High-Powered Corvette vs. Tesla Cybertruck in Hennessey’s 708 Horsepower Confrontation

This upgrade can transform your ride into a high-performing powerhouse, providing a remarkable increase in power from its original 490 horsepower to an astonishing 708 hp.

Hennessey challenged the Tesla Cybertruck to a head-to-head competition to demonstrate the impressive capabilities of the Vette. Although this may appear to be an uneven battle, the electric pickup truck boasts impressive speed in a straight line. With a maximum horsepower of 845, the top-tier Cyberbeast can even outperform a Porsche 911 when hauling the same load under certain conditions.

Hennessey has acknowledged that the vehicle featured in the footage is not a Cyberbeast, but rather the standard all-wheel drive edition. However, boasting 600 horsepower and immediate acceleration, it poses as a formidable rival to the ‘Vette.

The tuner from Texas has chosen not to disclose any performance statistics, however, it does outperform the standard vehicle, which can reach 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds.

Hennessey has equipped the LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine with a powerful supercharger, specially designed to fit into the compact engine compartment of the Corvette. In addition, their skilled team has installed a fresh cat-back exhaust system, providing a deeper and more distinct sound from the V8 engine. Along with this, they have incorporated an air induction system and an air-to-water intercooler for improved performance.

As stated previously, the motor generates an astounding 708 horsepower, marking a significant 44% rise in output. Additionally, torque has been enhanced from 465 pound-feet to an impressive 638 pound-feet, resulting in an incredible 37% increase. These figures are remarkable, as Hennessey has managed to surpass the power ratings of both the Z06 (670 hp) and the electrified E-Ray (655 hp).

The velocity of this car compared to either vehicle is yet to be determined. It’s noteworthy to mention that Hennessey also presents this option for the Stingray coupe. An enhancement to the H750 increases horsepower to a whopping 758.

Aside from the enhancements in performance, buyers have the option to customize their vehicle with a variety of add-ons. These include 19-inch forged alloy wheels and the Hennessey C8 Heritage Livery. Additionally, an active-valve exhaust system is offered as well. Customers can select the wheels in satin silver, matte gunmetal, or gloss black, while the decals come in red, silver, black, white, or blue finishes.

According to John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the company, “We’ve unleashed the power that Chevrolet left on the table, boosting output by more than 200 hp.” He went on to say that very few cars, especially at this price point, have the ability to provide such a high level of power, acceleration, and exhilarating open-air driving experience while also delivering the iconic V8 roar that the Corvette is known for.

The H700 option comes with a limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles, unique badging specific to the model, and a special plaque announcing its prestigious status. Our curiosity led us to inquire about the cost of this impressive package – and according to Hennessey, the H700 upgrade will add an additional $35,950 to the base price of a brand new Corvette.
