Waiting for Cybertruck Unveiling Payoff.
One may not accept it as conceivable, but Tesla has recently proclaimed that the initial Cybertruck electric pickup truck was manufactured at Gigafactory Texas.
Tesla made an exciting announcement on Twitter – “First Cybertruck built at Giga Texas!” – and included a photo of the jubilant factory workers with the first production Cybertruck. Elon Musk shared the news with his followers, tweeting a congratulatory message to the Tesla Team.
With the masses of people surrounding it, much of the vehicle remains hidden from view – only the glass roof, windshield with the large wiper on the left, truck bed and side windows can be seen. Despite this, what we do perceive appears to resemble many of the recent prototypes that have regularly been sighted in recent weeks.
Clearly this is an amazing occasion for both Tesla and the Gigafactory Texas team, noting that manufacturing of the fifth passenger car in the tech giant’s line-up has just started some three and a half years after production of the Model Y began in January of 2020.
It is very likely that the unveiling of the Cybertruck will have a greater impact than before because there are numerous grounds for this fact. The primary justification for that is that the Cybertruck is, in fact, an SUV, which happens to be the most common kind of car in the United States. Assuming Tesla can assemble as many as needful in a fairly quick time span, it is likely to be rather prosperous.
In May, Elon Musk predicted that Tesla could sell between 250,000 and 500,000 Cybertrucks annually once production is running at full capacity. “We’ll make as many as people want and can afford,” declared the CEO of Tesla, further noting that it would be challenging to make the cost reasonable considering the Cybertruck is an entirely new vehicle with a distinct fabrication approach – the exoskeleton made of Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless-steel.
The distinctive, yet controversial form of the Cybertruck is something which stands out from all Tesla models as well as any other automobiles. Whether one admires it or not, the Cybertruck will certainly be difficult to overlook and be the most popular vehicle on the streets when its deliveries start, bringing a huge amount of limelight to Tesla.
Elon Musk spoke of deliveries in April, noting that the handover event for the Cybertruck would occur “at the end of the third quarter” – a period which could extend up to September 2023. If the vehicle is in its production-spec version, it is likely that the first Cybertruck produced will be amongst the vehicles delivered to customers at the forthcoming event.
Despite the events put on by Model Y at Tesla’s Giga Berlin and Giga Texas sites last year, it is anticipated that only a few Cybertrucks will be provided to customers – likely Tesla insiders – at the debut. With production having begun with much caution, Elon Musk has warned that the rate of increase in Cybertruck production will be the most arduous and lengthy yet.
“This was a tough product to design and even tougher to build,” Musk tweeted in May, and his previous statement suggested that the initial production of the Cybertruck would begin in the summer of 2023, with volume manufacturing following in 2024. Output is expected to be restricted until then.
At long last, the production of the Tesla Cybertruck is a momentous occasion in view of the tremendous amount of reservations that the company has achieved. By November 2022, the tallied number of preorders supposedly surpassed 1.6 million according to a tracked source. Even though this doesn’t automatically mean that Tesla has secured 1.6 million sales, it remains quite evident that the public is still very eager for the Cybertruck, desiring to acquire it in remarkably high numbers.
