Unveiling Diesel Truck at SEMA Show Vegas
The lack of a Ram 2500 model at the SEMA Show was not a problem, as truck buffs were still presented with some amazing offerings such as the 2023 Ford Shelby F-250 Super Baja. Boasting enhanced performance credentials, it provides us with an experience fairly similar to what would be expected from the Raptor version of the F-250.
As a vehicle outfitted with the Baja badge, the suspension is one of the most important aspects. The Fox Factory – Performance Vehicle Development group crafted a novel suspension setup which elevates the ride height by means of a specialty BDS lift system, adding even more manoeuvrability and enhancing off-road ability. In comparison to what was unveiled in 2021, the latest Super Baja now is available with bigger 20-inch alloy wheels and still fitted with 37-inch BFGoodrich tires.
The front end of the car is adorned with a new Raptor-like grille, prominently displaying the wordmark “Shelby.” Above this is a functional air induction hood complete with an extraction vent, while below sits a powder-coated steel bumper. To complete the look, LED lighting, painted fender flares, XL power steps with rock sliders and lights, and powder-coated exhaust tips have been added.
Interiorly, the cabin is adorned with Shelby F-250 Super Baja exclusive items like complete leather upholstery and accents, custom carbon fiber highlights, and decorative floor mats. All models take pride in Shelby Super Baja badges and feature a CSM serialized plate. On top of that, Ford’s Super Duty is the initial pickup truck offering 5G Wi-Fi functionality available in the United States.
The vehicle is equipped with the standard 6.7-litre Power Stroke turbodiesel, offering 475 horsepower in addition to an incredible 1,050 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by a proprietary 10-speed TorqShift automatic transmission.
Shelby American provides a restricted amount of 300 samples, which commences at an outrageous $154,995 – comprising the foundation model, the Lariat Ultimate 4×4 F-250. It proposes 50 extra versions compared to its former model and is more expensive by $25,000. Moreover, it furnishes a 3 year/ 36,000-mile warranty.
“The Ford Shelby F-250 Super Baja has been a hit since its introduction in 2021,” commented Gary Patterson, President of Shelby American. “It has quickly become one of the most sought-after vehicles in our lineup.”
“The 2023 Shelby F-250 Super Baja is the result of rigorous testing both on and off-road, delivering a dual-purpose vehicle that is capable of towing heavy loads and tackling even the most extreme off-road conditions. This pickup offers all of the power and performance that is expected from the iconic Shelby brand.”
