Charity Auction of Mustang to Support Juvenile Diabetes Research
Ford is determined to carry on its longstanding commitment to supporting worthy causes by offering up the inaugural 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for auction, with all proceeds going towards charitable organizations. This sleek and powerful vehicle will be put up for bidding at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale Auction on January 27th.
The initial Dark Horse model has been expertly complete in a striking shade of Blue Ember Metallic. This vehicle boasts premium features such as Recaro racing seats, eye-catching accent stripes, as well as both the Handling and Appearance packages. It also includes a MagneRide suspension system, a sturdy K-brace Torsen rear differential, and a set of top-of-the-line Pirelli Trofeo RS tires mounted on staggered wheels – all thoughtfully added by the manufacturer for enhanced performance.
As with all other models in the Mustang Dark Horse lineup, VIN 001 is equipped with a powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine that boasts 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque. This impressive output is channeled exclusively to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission.
As a gentle reminder, the starting price for the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse is $60,850, which already includes the destination and handling taxes. While there is currently no official estimation from Barrett-Jackson on the auction price for the first Dark Horse ever produced, it is worth noting that last year’s event saw the first 2024 Mustang being sold for an impressive $490,000. Ford has announced that all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), a charity dedicated to the prevention and treatment of type 1 diabetes.
