Seriously Quick Supercar: Here It Is.
The McLaren 765LT Spider has proven to be one of the most impressive vehicles money can acquire, due to its lightweight profile combined with a robust 755-horsepower twin-turbo V8 engine. Unsurprisingly, this results in an astonishing 0 to 60 mph speed of just 2.7 seconds. Incredulously fast, but it didn’t stop one brave owner from pushing their McLaren even further and achieving a Guinness World Record for this modified supercar, clocking an 8-second quarter mile.
AntiochExotics is the organization behind this incredible automobile, having just recently posted a YouTube video showcasing the record-breaking race. During the very first trial speed, the 765LT Spider blazes off quickly, not even a slight suggestion of wheelspin impairing its build-up of speed.
Later, the car finishes the quarter-mile in 9.22 seconds at 156.19 mph, but that’s still not enough to take home the title. “That car is running well; it had a better launch than the last time,” says the driver. “We changed up the launch control settings.”
On hitheir third venture, the pearly McLaren was nearly at its goal, barely departing from the objective. Covering the quarter-mile in 9.006 seconds and reaching a velocity of 157.41 mph, it was discernible that the 765LT had the essential elements to join the sub-nine-second club. And that is just what happened on their fourth endeavor.
Aligned at the beginning, the twin-turbo V8 thrusts the auto out aggressively from the starting point and the McLaren runs down the drag trail with enduring energy. Astoundingly, the supervehicle reaches the end in 8.991 seconds at 158.45 mph, allegedly achieving a world record for the 765LT Spider.
It can be assumed that this is an altered model and not just an out of the box auto. Previously, a video showed the 765LT Spider at the dyno, where it was gauged to produce a formidable 1,078.8hp and 724.3lb-ft of torque.
Despite the claimed record presented, AntiochExotics declares that the abilities of their McLaren would possibly improve if it were in cooler temperatures; the driving was finished in a scorching atmosphere of over one hundred degrees.
The all-new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is truly amazing, with a certified quarter-mile time of 8.91 seconds at 151.17 mph straight from the factory. By contrast, while its stock form cannot keep up when the road starts to twist and turn, the 765LT remains incredibly speedy.
Returning to the high stakes of drag racing supercars, the AntiochExotics McLaren has some work to do if it is to overtake its adversaries. Last year, a 1,400 hp Lamborghini Huracan STO astounded onlookers when it conquered the quarter-mile in 8.5 seconds. In 2021, however, an Audi R8 stunned the world by brushing across the finish line in an unprecedented 7.960 seconds – a remarkable feat for any car.
