The images, captured by the MIIT of China, display a completely revamped car that embraces the essence of Cadillac’s electric design. The front of the vehicle features sleek Daytime Running Lights that seamlessly blend with the ornamental detail above the grille.

With its rounded and rectangular shape, the grille of the Optiq EV strongly resembles its front panel. The bumper is adorned with striking headlights that take up a substantial amount of space, gradually narrowing towards the license plate holder. The side view of the car appears more refined and sleek, with a reduction in the number of creases on its body.

The Cadillac SUV XT5 presents a significantly more modern and high-end facade from the front, in stark contrast to its outdated predecessor when placed against other competing vehicles.

Luckily, the back of the car now exudes more personality than its predecessor, featuring unique L-shaped taillights that are divided by an eye-catching chrome accent. The XT5 and trim badges have been repositioned lower down on the boot, giving it a sleeker look. Additionally, the rear design takes inspiration from the Escalade IQ and the newly revealed Vistiq, aligning the XT5 with Cadillac’s contemporary aesthetic. There are also subtle nods to the latest Chevrolet Blazer EV in the back.

New photos reveal a variety of wheel options for the upcoming Cadillac, ranging from classic to more athletic looks. Surprisingly, the model will also feature red taillight lenses in addition to a smoked clear cluster. This may vary depending on the selected trim package.

The recently-released XT5 boasts a slightly longer frame compared to its predecessor, at 192.4 inches in total length. This slight increase from the previous model’s 189.6 inches means that shoppers can anticipate a small bump in both legroom and storage capacity.

Numerous reports have suggested that the 2024 model year will mark the end of the US version of the XT5. Yet, it seems that Cadillac, a luxury brand owned by GM, is now reevaluating this decision and making moves to introduce the second iteration of the vehicle in the American market. Although there is uncertainty surrounding this potential development, it would be unwise for Cadillac to withdraw from the profitable premium crossover market, especially with the current slowdown in the electric vehicle industry.

The existing version comes with a choice of two engines: a 235-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a 310-horsepower naturally aspirated V6. It is likely that the upcoming XT5 will eliminate the V6 in favor of stronger four-cylinder options, as seen with the newly refreshed Nautilus, its biggest rival within the American market. The Nautilus now only offers four-cylinder engines.

It is anticipated that the 2025 Cadillac XT5 will make its way to the United States, as it appears to be a desirable and capable high-end SUV.
