Welcome: New, Improved Crossover Arriving in 2021

Mini put out early teaser photographs of their future Countryman last week, and it has been declared that production is slated to start in November 2023. Although the official launch date has yet to be set in stone, two new renderings have given us an accurate glimpse into what this classic British automaker’s mini crossover will look like.

Utilizing generously-teaser shots displaying a barely noticeable 2024 Countryman prototype, Mini cleverly hidden a great deal of the model’s exterior styling. In spite of this, our friends at Kolesa.ru managed to take off all the wraps, revealing the design of the peculiar crossover. Naturally, as these are unofficial images, it is possible that differences may occur between the depiction down below and the eventual model; however, perhaps the Countryman’s exterior should look something like this.

With our eyes, the crossover looks pretty attractive. We had a little bit of anxiety when Mini introduced the Aceman concept, but with the Countryman we are anticipating the car maker to heed its proven blueprint and just keep things plain. Even though it appears to have stayed relatively identical as far as measurements go as compared to its predecessor, the new model is going to measure at 5.12 inches (13 centimeters) bigger and will have a total length of 174.4 inches (442.9 cm). The height moreover ascends by around 2.36 inches (6.0 cm) and is made up to 63.5 inches (161.3 cm).

Beneath the surface, the electric-powered Countryman harnesses the FAAR platform sourced from the BMW iX1. Although, for the time being we have just been made cognizant of the 64.7 kilowatt-hour battery choice, which is likely to be capable of rendering an estimated range of 450 kilometers* under the WLTP test in Europe. Not to mention, there is a chance of having another small 54 kWh battery pack offered. Additionally, concerning the combustion engine versions, 1.5 and 2.0 liter turbocharged petrol units are accounted for with some sort of hybrid electrification. *Wording changed from “around 280 miles”
