Base model price remains unchanged.
In a recent communication to dealers, Ford announced that there will be a significant price hike for the 2024 Mustang GT and Dark Horse models, reaching up to $1,840.
The Ford Mustang GT’s base price has been increased by $250, raising the starting cost to $41,960. Additionally, the GT Premium and GT Premium Convertible models will now begin at $46,480 and $51,980, respectively.
The Mustang Dark Horse Premium, perfect for the racetrack and equipped with the Dark Horse Appearance Package, has recently seen a rise in MSRP by $995. According to Ford’s public website, the starting price now stands at $62,180. In addition to this increase, the Dark Horse Handling Package and Recaro sports seats have gone up in cost by $500 and $345, respectively. This brings the total inflation of the Dark Horse Premium’s price up to $1,840. On the other hand, the regular Dark Horse model begins at $58,185.
Ford has recently announced a rise in prices for their GT and Dark Horse trims, following a previous increase of $215 last December. While the standard 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine remains unchanged for both trims, customers now have the option to upgrade to either a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic gearbox for an extra $1,595. The Dark Horse Mustang boasts 500 horsepower, a slight increase of about 20 horses compared to the GT trim. On the other hand, the base EcoBoost model still offers 330 hp at a steady price. It appears that Ford may be taking advantage of the high demand for the V8 engine, as the price for the turbocharged four-cylinder variant has not been affected.
There are numerous choices accessible for every version of the iconic pony car, such as the Co-Pilot360 Assist+ priced at $1,095.
In addition to the Ford Mustang, the Blue Oval company has been revising the cost of its other vehicles – with a special focus on its electric vehicles – in order to remain competitive in the market. One noteworthy example is the Ford F-150 Lightning, which recently received a significant decrease in price of up to $15,000. The Mustang’s electric counterpart, the Mustang Mach-E, has also seen a substantial discount and now boasts a starting price below $40,000.
