Aston Martin’s 2024 F1 Safety Car: The Sleek New Vantage Model

2024 F1 season set to debut new surprises – don’t miss out!

Aston Martin recently unveiled the upgraded Vantage sports car as the official Safety Car for Formula 1 in 2024. This highly-anticipated model showcases enhancements and improvements, solidifying its reputation as a luxury vehicle brand.

The British sports car will take the front spot on the 20-car lineup for the upcoming Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. This highly anticipated event will mark the debut of the new Aston Martin on the F1 racing scene, although some modifications have been made compared to its original road version.

At the core of the brand new safety vehicle lies a powerful twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 motor. Despite its important role, no modifications were necessary as the auto manufacturer had already implemented upgrades for the latest Vantage model, resulting in a significant increase of 30% in power output. With an impressive performance of 656 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque from its eight cylinders, the car can reach 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds and has a maximum speed of 202 mph.

The previous version faced severe criticism for its sluggish performance, prompting the implementation of alterations to avoid future reprimands from individuals like George Russell.

According to Aston Martin, their Safety Car has been enhanced with added aerodynamic features, including a more prominent front splitter and modified underfloor aerodynamics. The back of the vehicle has also been upgraded with a specially positioned wing that has been fine-tuned with a Gurney. Additionally, the roof-mounted lightbar has been streamlined for improved aerodynamics.

The Aston Martin has undergone a transformation, with the inclusion of practical upgrades in place of its lavish fixtures and fittings. The opulent leather-trimmed seats have been swapped for Recaro Pole Position ones, and a revamped center console now serves as the control hub for FIA systems, lap time displays, rearview camera operation, and tracking of all race cars on the track.

Despite its simplicity and functionality, Aston Martin has managed to add a touch of luxury by incorporating Lime Essence interior details into their vehicles.

The car is coated with the renowned Aston Martin Racing Green hue, which is highly favored by the brand’s customers. It will team up with the DBX 707 Medical Vehicle to showcase the Gaydon-based company’s dedication to motorsports and Formula 1.

“Driving the Aston Martin Vantage is truly a delight,” stated Bernd Maylander, FIA Safety Car Driver. “Our priority is to have a car that is both swift and concentrated in order to promptly and securely respond to any on-track deployment requests. The Vantage meets these requirements perfectly. I have had the pleasure of driving the Vantage for the past three seasons and I am thrilled to be one of the first to experience the new Vantage’s exceptional performance on the most renowned circuits in the world.”

The Vantage for street use was succeeded by the GT3 racing vehicle. A short time after, the manufacturer revealed the debut of the GT4 with its innovative gearbox, effectively completing the entire range.
