The victors of the 2023 Global Car of the Year Awards have been declared, and for the 2nd successive year, Hyundai managed to win three distinct classes. In the overall classification, the finalists involved the Alfa Romeo Tonale, BMW 2 Series Coupe, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and the Nissan Ariya; however, it was the Hyundai Ioniq 6 that earned claiming responsibility for the victory, also bagging both 2023 World Electric Vehicle and 2023 World Car Design of the Year titles. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 was likewise impressive last year, and afterwards when we drove the Ioniq 6 , we were very impressed.

It was unveiled in Frankfurt this past week.Elsewhere, the newly revealed Citroen C3 is set to become the 2023 World Urban Car. Its first appearance occurred at the Frankfurt expo last week.

Hyundai has totally secured the World Car Awards, with the esteemed World Car Person of the Year Award going to the South Korean carmaker’s design leader, the forward-thinking SangYup Lee. He was responsible for the Ioniq 6 and expressed great satisfaction in having been granted this award.

“We strive to build a connection with customers on an emotional level, and we believe the Ioniq 6 design has accomplished that,” said Lee. “It’s a daring streamliner with a stunning appearance and aerodynamic efficiency that produces exceptional range. Beginning at an attractive price of $41,600, this car looks set to impress both shoppers and evaluators alike.
