Corvette Z06s with Discrepant Splitters Being Shipped

Chevrolet Acknowledges Problem with Technical Service Bulletin.

Chevrolet provides a carbon-fiber aero kit for the Corvette Z06, available in either a visible weave or black color. In contrast to manufacturers like Ferrari or McLaren, who allow customers to choose specific carbon-fiber components individually, the Z06’s package is consistent across all models. There are some exceptions for certain 2024 models, and Chevrolet is already aware of this issue.

The problem was initially brought to light in a video posted on the YouTube channel Horsepower Enthusiast, showcasing a Z06 vehicle with exposed carbon fiber accents throughout its body except for the front splitter. This discrepancy is easily noticeable as the splitter is located right underneath dive planes that are finished in exposed carbon fiber.

BIG PROBLEM! C8 Corvettes being delivered with INCORRECT parts!

The problem was quickly identified by the owner, who promptly informed the dealer. It seems they are not the only ones facing this issue, as GM has released a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) that deals with the problem. According to Corvette Blogger, the TSB instructs dealers to give customers the option to either take the vehicle with the incorrect front splitter and come back later for the right part, or wait for the correct one before taking delivery. The parts may take a few weeks to arrive.

In terms of functionality, there shouldn’t be any problems since the splitters are identical except for the finish. Personally, we believe that the Z06 has a stylish appearance with the mismatched components. Perhaps in a few decades at Corvettes at Carlisle, you could be showcasing the only Z06 with a factory mistake on the splitter.

Naturally, it is understandable why owners would feel frustrated. The carbon-fiber aero package that is easily noticeable costs an additional $2,000 compared to the black-painted version, and owners deserve to receive what they have paid for.
