The Ioniq 6 earned the World Car Design and World Electric Vehicle Awards once again. Of the three finalists vying for the 2021 COTY trophy, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 triumphed over the BMW X1/iX1 and Kia Niro.
We joyfully accept this resounding recognition for two consecutive years, commending the impressive skill set and enormous efforts of all in Hyundai Motor Company in order to bring Ioniq 6 EVs to market,” said Jaehoon Chang, the President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company.
The organization bestowed the prestigious World Luxury Car title to the Lucid Air, emerging victorious over adversaries BMW 7 Series and Genesis G90. The Kia EV6 GT subsequently claimed the World Performance Car designation, acquiring more votes than the newly unveiled Nissan Z and the all-wheel-drive Toyota GR Corolla that generates 300 horses from its turbocharged 1.3-liter 3-cylinder engine. Hyundai emerged victorious against the BMW i7 and Lucid Air for the EV accolade. To take the design honour, it contended with the Land Rover Range Rover as well as the Lucid Air.
