Out of Reach in the US?
Mercedes-AMG has announced a special edition of the G63, dubbed the “Grand Edition,” in honor of the model’s long history which dates back to 2002. With only 1,000 units being made available worldwide, the exact availability for the United States is yet to be determined.
A unique version of the model is made special with a hint of black and gold. The accents are marked with AMG badge and Mercedes star in the shade Kalahari Gold Magno- used for front/back bumper inlays, simulated skid plate up front, along with rim trim on the spare wheel and the signature Mercedes-star.
A gleaming, different hue of gold, labeled Tech Gold, is seen on the 22-inch AMG forged rims (donned with a black center-lock nut) plus side graphics. The rest of the body is tinted in Manufaktur Night Black Magno.
Once you enter, you’ll be greeted immediately by the AMG logos in black door sill trims. The perfect way to feel fully relaxed afterward is with G Manufaktur’s classy black nappa leather interior with gold stitching and a hint of gold within each headrest’s AMG logo plaques. The black floormats have exquisite gold detail on them, and even the overhead handles boast attractive yet highly practical Nappa leather.
The passenger side grab handle is adorned with carbon and copper threading with the words “Grand Edition,” and this same carbon-and-copper motif is echoed in other trim details around the cabin. The AMG Performance microfiber steering wheel is topped off with a wheel clasp sporting a G 63 plaque.
With the arrival of the Mercedes-AMG G63 Grand Edition, the car manufacturer just after it announced the G500 Final Edition. The latter model signifying a last farewell to the legendary V8 engine (for non-AMG variants) with its planned 1,500 units slated for global production. All this indicates the start of the end of the gas-powered type since its electric alternative continues to get nearer. Fortunately, the G63 might potentially have longer than assumed due to utterances made in the press release associated with the Grand Edition.
“The Mercedes-AMG G 63 has established itself as a timeless automotive icon and remains unrivaled among performance off-road vehicles,” stated Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH. “We are celebrating the remarkable success story of the G 63 with the exclusive and limited Grand Edition, and there is still more to come.”
No matter what happens, it’s not the conclusion, and the “Grand Edition” appears to be another milestone in the goal to make half a million more Gs. This is an ambitious target, but with the success of the Grand Edition, it could be achievable. The company has already come a long way since its launch, and this new edition is a testament to that. It’s clear that the company has big plans for the future, and the Grand Edition is just the start. With its advanced features and sleek design, it’s sure to be popular among consumers. Hopefully, this will help the company reach its goal of half a million more Gs.
