2011-2020 Chrysler 300s and Dodge Charger both have available pickup truck conversion kits.
The Chrysler 300 faced its end in the later part of last year, however, there is hope for owners who wish to revitalize their vehicle. Smyth Performance offers a pickup conversion kit that can transform the car into a single-cab pickup truck, also known as a “ute”.
Offered for the time period spanning from 2011 to 2020, the package was crafted by Oscar Vargas and brought to fruition by Smyth Performance, a truck conversion company based in Massachusetts. This establishment boasts an impressive collection of vehicles, such as the ever-popular Volkswagen Beetle. In particular, company founder Mark Smith developed a kit specifically for the full-sized, opulent sedan known as the 300, driven by his passion for the now-retired Hemi engine.

The package boasts of fiberglass quarter panels on both the left and right sides, along with a rear window surround also made from fiberglass and sourced from a GM Colorado. In addition, there are added roof and b-pillar reinforcements, sturdy two- or three-piece flat bed floors, and tough inner bedsides made of aluminum at 1/8 inches thickness.
The truck’s cargo area is unexpectedly functional, spanning around five to six feet when the tailgate is closed. The top edges are 48.5 inches thick at the narrowest part in the front section. Furthermore, the wheel wells measure 48.5 inches and gradually decrease to 36 inches on the bottom.
The kit for transforming your car also comes with a steel original tailgate, a fiberglass rear roll pan/bumper cover, and interior carpets. This kit can also be used for the Dodge Charger as it has similar structural components to the 300.
Despite being the owner of Ram Trucks, Chrysler has yet to release a mainstream pickup truck. Although the Ram 1500 may have its own appeal, there is a certain allure to the Chrysler 300 SUV with its powerful Hemi V8 engine situated at the forefront.
According to Smyth Performance, their pickup conversion kit is available for purchase at a price of $4,490, with the company boasting that the kit includes “Everything you need but the donor car and paint.” The first 25 special edition 300 kits have already entered production as of last month, and potential buyers simply require a donor car and paint to begin the conversion process.
