Rescuing a 1967 Ford F-100 From the Scrapyard

Mish-Mash Ford and Chevy Truck

Renovating and revamping a classic car by combining disparate parts can be an uncertain undertaking, yet Joe Henke’s 1967 Ford F-100 fabulously displays the fruits of his effort. Equipped with a modern 4.6-liter modular V8 engine, it is clear that tremendous passion and diligence have been lavished on this vehicle, which was once bound for irreparable dilapidation in a scrapheap.

As reported by Henke on the Holley official YouTube page, this truck underwent a reconstruction from its foundation with a selection of components gathered from both Ford and Chevrolet, together with some crafted specially.

The front coils from a second-generation Ford Mustang join forces with a custom 4-link rear suspension for an unparalleled appearance. Further adding to the bold look are premium Brembo brakes plus stylish bronze-coloured aftermarket alloys.

Spearheading this exemplar of the forefather of the Ford F-150, as stated above, is a 4.6-liter modular V8 procured from a Ford Mustang SVT Cobra which supplies 320 brake horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. Switching speed is handled via a T-45 five-speed manual transmission, while an Holley Terminator X EFI system administers the engine’s dynamic potential. The truck’s rear wheels are activated with an 8.8-inch rear axle originating from a Ford Explorer.

The exterior of the vehicle features a glossy satin-vinyl wrap. At the front, it involves three distinct bumpers, taken from an F-100, with an inverted Chevy C10 rear bumper. The grille is totally bespoke and is complemented by exhaust pipes tucked underneath. And, to complete the unique overall aesthetic, all these elements have been colour-matched with the wheels, creating a harmonious yet customised feel.

The abode is just as pleasant as the frame and appears to be nearly analogous to the prototype but with some extras such as freshly covered chairs, Holley evaluation devices, and an altered gearstick.

Generally, we’re passionate about it, and the reality that this construction prolongs a desperately outdated classic on the roads just increases our admiration for its magnificence.
