Tesla Cybertruck Crash: Strength of Stainless Steel Proven

EV’s Scratches vs Totaled Corolla

The first recorded basis of a Tesla Cybertruck meeting with an accident has recently occurred, just a few weeks after distribution commenced on November 30. While the electric vehicle’s fortitude was retained, the Toyota Corolla included in the crash was pronounced irreparable.

According to images presented on Reddit, it appears that the back wheel guard located on the left of the truck has sustained severe damage. In addition, not just surface scratches are present and the body seems intact. On the other hand, for the Corolla, things look to be much less optimal in terms of its cosmetics as the front bumper has come away from the car itself and the left side of the hood is bent.

The California Highway Patrol has reported that on December 28, 2023 at 2:05 pm, units from their Redwood City division were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash on SR-35 (Skyline Boulevard), south of Page Mill Road. According to the preliminary investigation, a Toyota Corolla was traveling south on SR-35 when, for unknown reasons, the driver turned to the right and struck a dirt embankment on the right shoulder. The Toyota then re-entered the roadway, crossed over the double yellow lines, and crashed into a Tesla Cybertruck that was travelling north on SR-35. The Tesla driver sustained a suspected minor injury but refused medical transportation. There were no other reported injuries. It appears that the Tesla Cybertruck was not in autonomous mode at the time of the accident. The investigation into this incident is still ongoing.

The impenetrability of the Cybertruck’s durable chassis could be seen to have been proven by its first successful test in the real world, likely leading to more trust from potential purchasers than if Elon Musk had tried to demonstrate its resilience through shooting Tommy gun rounds at its doors.

The number of bookings for the Cybertruck has already exceeded seven figures; hence, we can expect more of these vehicles to be seen on the roads soon. As unfortunate as accidents may be, it would still be intriguing to observe how this ride fares against much heavier, high-end cars in such scenarios.
