Unexplained deal should clarify to improve sales.
The VinFast VF 8 is taking steps to draw in a larger customer base by offering a lease option at a significantly lower price of $249 per month. This move positions the VF 8 as one of the most budget-friendly cars on the American market, potentially claiming the title of the least expensive overall.
According to an MSRP of $47,200, the budget-friendly leasing option offers a 36-month plan with a monthly payment of $249 and a down payment of $944. This deal includes a tax incentive of $7,500 and lease cash of $15,349. As a result, potential customers can expect to pay only $275 per month (down from $527) as their effective lease rate.
Although the Vietnamese electric vehicle company has not released an official statement about the issue, it appears that the attractive leasing offer was introduced to increase sales after a less-than-enthusiastic response to the brand in the United States.
Ever since its introduction to the American market in the previous year, VinFast has been providing attractive promotions in an effort to stay competitive. One of its latest offers, the VF 8, seems to be directly challenging the Tesla Model Y, with a reduced monthly lease payment of $379 and a lower down payment of around $1,000.
VinFast provides exceptional warranty protection, which boasts a 10-year battery and a comprehensive 10-year/125,000-mile warranty. Customers are also treated to a compensation plan, with $100 payouts for minor inconveniences and up to $300 for more serious problems.
Despite the attempts to increase profits, the manufacturer of electric vehicles managed to sell only 128 VF 8s between January and May of the previous year, out of the approximately 3,000 units that were imported during that period. Hopefully, this leasing agreement, along with upcoming promotions, will assist in turning the company’s fortunes around following a challenging beginning.
Potential buyers will need to act quickly, as the lease promotion is only valid until January 31.
In regards to the topic of affordability, VinFast has plans to introduce an exceptionally accessible electric car named the VF 3 to the market. This model is projected to be priced at less than $12,500, potentially qualifying for the $7,500 EV tax credit.
