Women’s Top Picks for the World’s Greatest Vehicles

The 14th edition of Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year announces category winners.

The winners of the five top prizes at the 2024 Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year ceremony have been revealed. These awards cover a diverse range of categories, including Family Cars, Large Cars, SUVs, Exclusive Cars, and 4×4 & Pick-Ups. The recipients of these prestigious prizes were selected for their exceptional performance in areas such as safety, driving experience, technological advancements, comfort, efficiency, environmental consciousness, and affordability.

This year marks the fourteenth edition of WWCOTY, formerly known as Women’s World Car of the Year, comprising 75 female auto experts from 52 nations spanning five continents.

This year, a total of 62 cars were competing for recognition – each one being introduced on at least two different continents between January 1 and December 31, 2023.

In the Family Car division, WWCOTY opted for the Volvo EX30, which is the latest release from the renowned Swedish company and one of its initial Battery Electric Vehicles designed on a specialized framework. It was handpicked for its exceptional standards, advanced safety features, superior comfort, and generous interior space.

The latest version of the BMW 5 Series, which also includes the pioneering BMW i5, was declared the winner in the Large Car division for its cutting-edge features and a roomy and cozy interior that comes with a completely vegan design.

In regards to the SUV class, WWCOTY declared the Kia EV9 as the winner due to its groundbreaking aesthetics, sophisticated features, and affordable pricing. The three-row Kia EV also holds the title of being this year’s North American Car, Truck, and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) SUV of the Year.

The 4×4 & Pick-Up category of the 2024 World Car of the Year (WCOTY) selected the Volkswagen Amarok (unavailable in the US). The advancements made to the new edition of this Ford Ranger-derived vehicle set it apart, showcasing enhancements in both interior design and features.

The ultimate victor in the 2024 WWCOTY Exclusive Car division was the Aston Martin DB12, recognized for its opulence, sophistication, and impeccable driving capabilities. The panel of judges praised the impressive improvements made to its interior, particularly the exceptional craftsmanship that did not compromise on practicality. The addition of a cutting-edge infotainment system certainly added to its appeal.

The top five automobiles in their respective categories will undergo a final evaluation to determine the overall winner of the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year award. The announcement will be made on March 8, 2024, live on the WWCOTY YouTube channel, in conjunction with International Women’s Day.These five vehicles emerged victorious in their individual categories, yet they will face one last round of scrutiny before the ultimate Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year prize is awarded. The winner will be revealed on March 8, 2024, via a live broadcast on the WWCOTY YouTube platform, coinciding with the global celebration of International Women’s Day.
