Z4 Coupe Concept by BMW Will Not Be Produced

BMW Plans to Produce Limited Run of $250,000 Coupes in Response to Strong Business Case

According to recent reports, BMW has officially stated that they have no intention of manufacturing the Z4 Coupe concept. The vehicle caused quite a stir when it made its first appearance at the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este last year, with speculations suggesting that BMW was planning to release a limited production run. However, a fresh update reveals that after some consideration, the carmaker ultimately decided to abandon the idea.

According to BMWBlog, the company has decided to scrap its plans to manufacture the car. As stated by sources within the publication, BMW had even gone as far as creating a business proposal for the car, which involved producing 50 units at a price of $250,000 each. However, these efforts were not sufficient to bring the “Clown Shoe” back to life and transform the Concept Touring Coupe into a tangible product. When contacted by Motor1, a representative from BMW declined to provide a comment.

Last May, we were immediately drawn to the elegant Z4 when it was revealed at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy. This new concept model replaced the Z4’s retractable roof with a sleek hardtop, complete with the signature Hofmeister kink, wider fenders, and improved practicality. BMW also made subtle changes to the iconic kidney grille by adding double vertical bars. The Z4 boasted striking staggered wheels, measuring 20- and 21-inches, with a spoke design of 20 and a stunning silver-bronze exterior finish. Additionally, the addition of blue glass added a unique touch to the overall aesthetic.

Within the vehicle, BMW incorporated a combination of dark brown and light saddle brown leather for the seats, featuring a stylish braided design. This high-quality leather was sourced from a reputable Italian workshop. The interior remained largely the same as the standard Z4 model. Regrettably, this one-of-a-kind masterpiece created by the dedicated designers will not be mass produced, disappointing many who had hoped to see it on the market.
