This combination of enhanced features and affordability is sure to attract a wide range of consumers.The arrival of the 2024 Q4 e-tron in the US marks another milestone for Audi as the company continues to lead the charge towards more eco-friendly and sustainable transportation options. The cost for the 2024 Q4 55 e-tron will begin at $55,200, matching the original manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the previous 50 e-tron version. The Sportback version also maintains its value of $58,200. It is uncommon for a car company to not increase the cost for a new model year, but it is even more unusual for updates to be made and no modifications to the MSRP.
The latest 55 e-tron models now generate an extra 40 horsepower, making a total of 335 hp. This means that Audi’s most budget-friendly electric vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just five seconds. In comparison, the previous model took 0.8 seconds longer to achieve the same speed.
For those who prioritize factors other than performance, there is good news as improvements have been implemented in other areas. When compared to its predecessor, the Q4 50 e-tron, the latest model boasts an added range of 22 miles, bringing the total EPA estimated range up to 258 miles.
The latest iteration of the rear axle on the Q4 e-tron boasts an upgraded PSM electric motor, resulting in increased efficiency and a boost in power. The motor is equipped with carefully designed parts that effectively disperse oil and regulate the temperature of the drivetrain. Additionally, a water-cooling jacket has been incorporated on the exterior of the stator.
Audi has fine-tuned the suspension to provide a smoother ride, while also sharping the steering for a more spirited driving experience. The car company claims that the electric crossover offers a well-balanced feel, bringing together sportiness and comfort. Additionally, buyers have the option to select 21-inch wheels equipped with all-season 235/45 tires at the front and 255/40 tires at the rear.
The 2024 Q4 55 e-tron boasts an impressive 82 kWh battery, with a usable capacity of 77 kWh. With its DC fast charging capability, this electric vehicle can replenish its battery from 10 to 80% in a mere 28 minutes. To add to its efficiency, the maximum DC charging power has been upgraded from 150 kW to 175 kW. Additionally, the battery has the ability to precondition itself before charging, which reduces the time needed to wait at a charging station.
Audi recently debuted the configurator for their latest model, the 2024 Q4 e-tron. It offers customers a choice of three trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. However, there are limited options when it comes to exterior colors, with only four available. The top-tier Prestige version has additional upgrades such as the Black Optic package for $1,300 and the Trailer Hitch for $650, but otherwise lacks customization options.
In the near future, the car manufacturer from Ingolstadt will be launching yet another electric SUV that will sit between the Q4 e-tron and Q8 e-tron. It goes by the name of Q6 e-tron and its official reveal is set for March 18. Utilizing the same platform as the latest Porsche Macan EV, this vehicle assures impressive power, speed, and elegance thanks to its PPE structure.
