2024 Kia Niro EV, From $40K to $46K

2nd Gen Kia Niro EV: Modest Price Rise, 253 Mile Range.

Kia America has declared costs for the 2024 Niro EV as the battery-powered subcompact crossover enters its second model year of the 2nd era.

The Kia Niro EV for 2024 is starting off with a price of $40,925 (plus a $1,325 destination cost), which is a mere $180 more than in the previous year.

The vehicle itself has risen in price by $150, and the added destination cost has come to $1,325 instead of $1,295 for the 2023 model year. As before, the Wind trim is the introductory, base level option and this will now cost $45,925 including the delivery fee – that is an extra $180 from last year.

Despite the nominal price increase, Kia states that the Niro EV is now even more worth its value. As an example of added value, the model now comes equipped with a two-tiered cargo floor as a standard feature to demonstrate its effectiveness in terms of practicality and utility.

A vast change has been implemented to the Niro selection, with the Fire Orange Metallic body finish no longer available across their entire range, and the Light Grey internal packaging from the EV Wind variation also being eliminated.

For 2024, the Kia Niro EV retains its single motor powertrain setup that boasts of a 64.8-kilowatt-hour battery container and permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle supplying 201 hp and 188 lb-ft of torque.

The Environmental Protection Agency-predicted scope of practicality continues similar at 253 miles, while the EPA-calculated MPGe assessment is preserved at 113 MPGe in total. Charging the battery from zero to eighty percent requires approximately 45 minutes with a rapid DC outlet.

In terms of standard offerings, the basic trim level of the Niro EV Wind is well provided with external features like 17-inch alloy rims, automated LED lamps, heated side mirrors, automated wipers, tinted windows and powered rear entry door.

In its inner world, it houses an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat furnished with a combination of cloth and simulated leather. Additionally, one can benefit from heated front seats, a faux leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automated climate control, 10.25″ instrument and infotainment displays, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, five USB ports, wireless phone charging capabilities, and a Harman Kardon system of six speakers.

In addition to all that, the $45,925 Niro EV Wave version adds perfected headlights, fog lights, power-folding side mirrors, sunroof, an eight-way adjustable passenger seat with memory functions for the driver, synthetic leather seating, heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, as well as extra features.

The Niro EV Wave has taken another step forward in technology, receiving the new-and-improved Highway Driving Assist 2 system, as well as Smart Park automated parking assistance, plus additional parking sensors and automated rear emergency braking.

Ultimately, the Niro EV Wave has the car-to-energy (V2E) inverter that lets the crossover energize electrical instruments or other EVs.
