It has been 15 years since General Motors discontinued the Pontiac and Saturn brands. The government assistance required GM leaders to make difficult choices regarding the brands they oversaw, ultimately influencing the direction of the American auto industry.

Bob Lutz was among the executives who had to make difficult decisions. In a recent conversation, we discussed the tough choices that ultimately led to Pontiac’s downfall. However, Lutz also shared his reflections on the other brands that were facing the chopping block.
