Get Ready to Spend: Score a Futurama-Inspired Honda Odyssey for Just $2,500

Detachable fins for effortless transportation of odd rig.

Although not as globally renowned as The Simpsons, Futurama, created by Matt Groening, has amassed a dedicated fan base and aired 150 episodes across eight seasons. For die-hard fans of the show, there is a unique opportunity to view a tribute to its iconic Planet Express spaceship. The impressive replica, built on top of a 2002 Honda Odyssey, is currently listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace in Commerce City, Colorado for the price of $2,500.

Eric, the vendor, personally stylized this Odyssey during the latter part of 2019. The outer facade boasts a vibrant teal hue paired with a fiery red stripe, reminiscent of the iconic Planet Express. Adorned on the faux portholes along the sides are images of beloved Futurama characters. Additionally, the minivan features detachable fins that mimic the appearance of a spaceship, making it perfect for transportation. On the roof, there is even a gun turret, while a faux rocket exhaust can be attached to the rear of the vehicle.

Eric shared with Motor1 that he currently owns “just one of 9 movie-themed cars… long story right there.”

In his listing, Eric mentions that this homage to Planet Express is designed as a prop for showcasing at events such as comic conventions. The vehicle must be transported using a trailer when traveling with it.

The Odyssey is still functional, but is currently experiencing an engine issue. The car’s description also mentions that it would not pass an emissions examination. This might seem like a minor concern though, as the van’s obstructed view due to painted windows would make operating it extremely challenging. To ease navigation, there is a backup camera available.

The inside of the vehicle has been completely emptied, with the exception of the two front seats. Many of the side panels are absent, revealing a large amount of exposed wiring. Furthermore, the sliding doors are firmly closed and cannot be opened. It would be possible for the potential buyer to personalize the interior in the same futuristic style as the exterior.

Eric is currently offering the Odyssey in its present state. If you happen to reside close to Commerce Park, he may be able to transport the vehicle to the purchaser.
