Italdesign unveils 777-HP concept resembling a pickup truck.

Convertible truck with electronic tailgate reveals small bed.

Italdesign’s most recent innovation combines a stylish GT car with a pickup truck to craft a vehicle specifically designed for stargazing. Whether the Quintessenza truly embodies both body styles is open to discussion, given that it is merely a concept. Nevertheless, the sleek design of the EV conceals some unconventional styling elements that are sure to captivate the inner stargazer within all of us.

The Quintessenza is spacious. It surpasses the shortest Ford F-150 in length, boasting a 127.6-inch wheelbase. This ample room allows for four seats and a central console that holds the infotainment controls and various switches. Additionally, it features an organizer and a refrigerated mini-bar, capable of holding a bottle of wine and two glasses.

When you fold down the back seats and detach the rear hardtop, allowing the interior to merge with the outdoors, you’ll definitely crave a refreshing beverage. The middle console is adjustable and can be brought closer to you, essentially turning into a mini bar as you relax in the reclined back seats and take in the surrounding views.

Towards the front of the vehicle, there is a stylish central dashboard that seamlessly transitions into the doors and extends towards the back of the car. Italdesign crafted the dashboard using a unique marble-infused material that cleverly conceals the controls until they are in use, utilizing a sophisticated projection system to reveal them. This feature may seem elegant and intricate.

The main vehicle interface is positioned near the steering wheel, serving as a docking station for your smartphone. The phone connects to the car using a special app. Through the phone, users have the ability to manage different vehicle configurations. When docked, the phone can also show important information like battery status, speed, turn signals, and more.

The simple and clean interior provides a stark contrast to the rough exterior of the Quintessenza. This vehicle features bold fender flares over large 24-inch wheels, distinct vertical and horizontal lighting elements at the front and back, and a sleek fastback roof that conceals the truck bed. It has the ability to change its ground clearance between 7.9 and 11.0 inches. Additionally, there are full-length scissor doors and an electronically operated tailgate for added convenience.

Driving the electric vehicle is a 150-kilowatt-hour battery that powers three electric motors – one driving the front axle and two located in the rear axles. The combined power amounts to 777 horsepower, allowing the vehicle to accelerate to 62 miles per hour in under three seconds. However, Italdesign has not provided any information regarding the towing or payload capabilities.

In any case, this item is impressive. Even though it may never be made available for purchase, we are pleased that it exists.
