INFINITI Presents: Jon Batiste and the Premiere of the All-New 2025 INFINITI QX80

Update: Infiniti has divulged the specifics of the 2025 QX80 ahead of their anticipated livestream event. For a sneak peek, feel free to peruse our previous post on the debut of the QX80. Be sure to tune in at 7:00 PM Eastern for the live unveiling.

After keeping a low profile for some time, Infiniti is prepared to make a comeback with their latest model: the all-new QX80. This range-topping SUV will be revealed today through a livestreamed event at the Edge outdoor sky deck located in Hudson Yards, New York City. Not only is this luxurious vehicle significant for local markets, but also on a global scale as it serves as a preview for the upcoming generation of the Patrol (known as the Armada in the United States).

Infiniti has had an extensive teaser campaign leading up to today’s highly anticipated debut. This not only includes giving glimpses of the design, but also revealing some technical details. One main feature that has already been confirmed for the new QX80 is its twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 450 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. This marks a significant increase of 50 hp and 103 lb-ft from the previous model, which was equipped with a naturally aspirated 5.6-liter V-8 engine.

The nine-speed automatic transmission of the V-6 engine is specifically designed with a 40% broader gear ratio range to effectively transfer power to the wheels. Through downsizing and incorporating forced induction, fuel efficiency is expected to significantly improve. This is highly appreciated news as the current all-wheel drive QX80 has been on the market for quite some time now and only manages to achieve 15 miles per gallon in the combined cycle. Infiniti assures that the future release of their substantial SUV will not only offer enhanced fuel economy but also improved performance, even with the elimination of two cylinders from the engine.

In other areas, the newly updated three-row sports utility vehicle guarantees to provide enhanced torsional toughness and a more seamless journey with the introduction of a brand-new adaptable air suspension. Additionally, the 2025 QX80 will come equipped with active grille shutters that are designed to shut at higher speeds in order to lower drag and optimize efficiency. Infiniti is also outfitting its contender to the Mercedes GLS with a top-of-the-line 24-speaker, 1,200-watt Klipsch sound system.

The QX80 is set to become the flagship model of the brand, boasting luxurious second-row seats with massaging capabilities. Both the first and second rows will offer the convenience of being heated and cooled, while the third-row seats can also be heated for added comfort. What’s even more fascinating is the implementation of biometric cooling for the second-row occupants, achieved through the integration of an infrared sensor in the headliner. This advanced technology detects when the passenger is feeling too warm and automatically sends a cool breeze their way.

Following its first appearance today, the 2025 Infiniti QX80 will make its way to the New York Auto Show next week and will be available for purchase later this year. Starting with its launch today, the latest model of the Infiniti QX80 from 2025 will move on to the upcoming New York Auto Show next week and become ready for buyers in the later months of this year.

The online broadcast will commence at 7 PM Eastern Time.
