Peugeot Pickup Rebadged from Chinese Origin
Stellantis has a number of trucks that, unfortunately, are not available in the United States. These include the Fiat Strada, the Ram 700, and the compact Rampage. While there is some speculation that the Rampage may eventually make its way to the US, nothing is set in stone yet. Additionally, the Peugeot Landtrek has been repurposed and rebranded as the “new” Fiat Titano in Latin America and Africa.
The Fiat Titano, stemming from the Greek mythos, competes with the Ford Ranger in the same segment. Its beginnings befall to the Changan Kaicene F70, a pickup created by Changan Automobile and PSA. It was launched in 2019, fabricating in multiple facilities worldwide with varying labels to cater to various areas.
The Fiat Titano is now ready to order in Algeria, with a 1.9L diesel motor delivering 150hp and 350 Newton-meters of torque via a six-speed manual transmission. This diesel variation is powerful enough to handle a maximum payload weight of 1,210 kilograms. In Brazil it’s expected that this version will have an even more potent 2.2L diesel engine producing 200 horsepower and 450 Nm.

It is highly improbable that the Titano will ever make its way to the United States. On the other hand, many of us are clinging to hope that the Ram Rampage is on its way. To give some context, UAW Vice President Rich Boyer recently expressed his belief that the Stellantis plant in Belvidere, Illinois would be reopened to manufacture a midsize pickup under the Ram badge.
