New AMG Model Releases in 2021
This year, Mercedes-Benz joined together the C and E-Class coupes to form the fresh model CLE. On the other hand, it declared the launch of a higher-performing variation loosely called the Mercedes-AMG CLE53 on Tuesday, with US releases slated to happen sometime in 2024.
Beneath the exterior of the new coupe lies the AMG-embellished turbocharged M256M 3.0-liter inline-six motor. It pumps out 443 horsepower and 413 pound-force of torque that surges to 443 lb-ft of torsion for around 12 seconds due to an overboost capability. Mercedes presumes the CLE53 can reach 60 mph from a dead stop in precisely 4.0 seconds. Its maximum speed is electronically capped at 155 mph.
The motor showcases optimally crafted combustion chambers, altered intake and outlet pathways, newly constructed piston rings, and upgraded injection. An extended exhaust turbocharger refines compression to 22 psi, operating with the recently designed electric secondary compressor. It is further furnished with the subsequent-generation incorporated starter dynamo, a fundamental element for the car’s 48-volt gentle hybrid system.
The CLE53 distributes its strength via the AMG SpeedShift TCT 9G gearbox, providing the base AMG Performance 4MATIC+ kit with an all-wheel drive. The vehicle is also equipped with 14.6-inch front brakes featuring four-piston calipers and 14.2-inch rear brakes having single-piston floating clampers to deliver high stopping force.
The CLE53 is provided with standard rear axle steering. At velocities up to 60 mph, the back tires can turn up to a maximum of 2.5 degrees in a course contrary to the front wheels. Haste surpassing the benchmark of 60 mph will cause the rears to run collinear with the forward ones, which assists in upholding poise.
The CLE53 showcases an eye-catching design with more than just a modified nose and tail. AMG outfitted the coupe with widened front and rear wheel arches, providing a 2.3 inch and 3.0 inch gain in track width respectively. The attractive frontage displays the iconic Panamericana grille with its vertical slats and a minimalistic yet defined lower air intake, complemented by dazzling LED headlamps.
The rear of the vehicle is certainly as dynamic, featuring four round exhaust pipes. Its two-piece LED taillights are held in 3D casings, joined by a bold crimson trim. Standard 19-inch wheels are provided, although 20-inch variants can be requested at an additional cost.
The AMG Performance Studio Package has been made an option for the coupe to provide a *more emphasized rear spoiler, one found on the trunk, and a differential situated between the exhausts. In addition, two ‘AMG Night’ and two ‘AMG Carbon Fiber’ packages are available as well. *emphasized instead of pronounced
Within the cabin, drivers will discover a 12.3-inch freestanding display at the front and an 11.9-inch central display available for infotainment purposes. MB-Tex/microfiber with contrasting red stitching comes as standard, although other leather upholstery selections are provided. If you choose the AMG Performance Seat package, you’ll get sports seats which have been built for greater support and aided by vertical slits in the backrest that offer improved breathability and decreased heftiness.
It is projected that sometime in 2021 the newly-designed 2024 Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe set for sale in North America will hit showroom floors. While the actual cost will not be publicised until closer to its release, it is anticipated that pricing information will be made available in the near future.
