Polestar 2 BST Upgrades Revealed Before March 21

Expect 2024 Model Upgrade to Boost Performance

It is hard to miss the refreshed looks of the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 as it was recently presented. The refreshed version of the electric liftback from Sweden has been awaited for quite some time and now, it appears that the wait is finally over. As heralded by Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, the next rendition of the performance model is set to arrive and the brand even went so far as to unveil a short video and image as teaser on their own Twitter channel.

We don’t get to observe the augmented power of the EV and Polestar has not explicitly declared it’s the BST Edition 270 version. Nevertheless, the Pirelli P Zero tires and expansive brake calipers on the image cause us to posit that this is indeed the high-powered Polestar 2, as those parts agree with what we observed from the 2022 Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 last year.

We would like to remind you that the top-notch battery electric vehicle sports a two-motor electric powertrain, generating up to 476 horsepower in addition to 502 pound-feet of torque. Altogether, this makes for an elevated experience of responsiveness when driving the Polestar 2 compared to a standard version. That’s not where it stops though! It has Ohlins two-way adjustable dampers, accompanied by auxiliary adjustment chambers, a fresh front strut bar and 20 percent stiffer springs which are included in the suspension upgrade, resulting in a ride that is lowered by approximately one inch.

Let us not overlook that more recently, the Polestar 2 was treated to a comprehensive overhaul for the 2024 model year, introducing new electric motors and batteries, along with a standard rear-wheel-drive layout. The dual-motor version has an emphasis on rear-drive with a maximal power of upwards of 421 hp and 546 lb-ft; this is in comparison to 408 hp and 467 lb-ft before the 2024 model year. Better still, if you invest in the optional Performance Package, that power goes up to 455 hp, virtually assimilating the production of the BST Edition 270. It feels like Polestar would like to establish a greater gap between the regular dual-motor variant and the topmost BST offering.

The highly restrictive BST Edition 270 was produced just 270 times and exclusively apportioned 55 vehicles for circulation in the United States. It appears that more examples will be assembled with an extended production run of this exclusive, improved model anticipated.
