Debut of Restomod at Goodwood Festival
Theon Design has returned with yet another Porsche 911 964 creation; the ITA001. Unveiled at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was specially crafted for an Italian clientele and collector. Although originally presented prior, this time around the world has the opportunity to view the automobile in all its close proximity glory.
Those in West Sussex should not miss out on the fantastic festivities taking place to celebrate Porsche’s 75th anniversary of its sports car. One such centerpiece includes the carbon fiber-bodied ITA001 restomod. Joining it is a 935-inspired 911 created by Singer, boasting a whopping 700-horsepower twin-turbo engine and tearing up the 1.16-mile hill climb track.
“We are thrilled to be unveiling our most recent project, ITA001, to the global audience at the Goodwood Festival of Speed – which is widely known as the foremost automotive event,” remarked Adam Hawley, Co-Founder of Theon Design.
“The ITA001 preserves the captivating allure of the air-cooled 911 while combining it with contemporary, sharp performance and agile handling; we’ve crafted a classic 911 with a healthy dose of modern GT3 added for good measure.”
The Porsche 911 ITA001, based on the 964 generation, is a restomod that boasts a remarkable 2,540 lbs weight thanks to its heavy use of carbon fiber. This model also comes with 993 RS brakes and a semi-active suspension from TracTive, a five-stage selectable system that offers infinite customizability when it comes to damping settings. Its creators have designed it to “deliver the ultimate air-cooled Porsche 911 driving experience.”
Whilst Theon Design have successfully created a 964-based 911 fitted with a supercharger, their latest commission labelled ITA001 has opted for an unassisted configuration employing a 4.0L level-6 powertrain, delivering 400 horsepower.
“The ITA001 model has seen Theon Design’s signature fusion of contemporary automotive technology, OEM grade design, and manufacturing processes, along with the British hand-crafted quality,” said Hawley. “Our team is passionate about attaining air-cooled Porsche excellence, and this model is a testament to our commitment to that goal.”
On showcase at Stand 68/69 of the Goodwood Festival of Speed is Theon Design’s ITA001, with availability until the 16th of July. For those wishing to purchase through a commission from the business, the entry price is an estimated 380,000 pounds (nearly $497,458).
