Stunning Italian Sports Car for Sale – Current Bid $70,000!
In 2014, the Tutto Italiano awarded a Best Alfa Romeo prize to a stunning 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale. The car is now up for sale on Bring A Trailer, showcasing its timeless Italian design and high-performance capabilities.
The Giulietta Sprint Speciale was designed by Franco Scaglione, who also worked on early models of the Aston Martin DB. This is why both cars have similar front fascias, although the Alfa Romeo distinguishes itself with its iconic Trefoil grille which can still be seen in the modern Giulia. The rear of the car showcases the classic Coda Tronca design, a popular choice for Alfa Romeo during the 1960s.
The Giulietta Sprint Speciale up for sale has a manufacturing date of January 31, 1962 and is one of around 1,366 models produced. Originally shipped to Padua, Italy, it later found its way to Belgium in the 2000s. The vehicle underwent some restoration before being transported to the US in the early 2010s, but it wasn’t until last year that it was acquired by the current dealer selling it.
In the year 2016, the capacity of the engine was boosted from 1.3 liters to 1,430cc, and was outfitted with double Weber carburetors by Marcovicci-Wenz Engineering from Ronkonkoma, New York. The outcomes of the dynamometer analysis display that the vehicle reached its highest point at 100.4 horsepower when revving at 6,500 rpm, and generated 97.4 lb-ft of torque at 4,600 rpm. A five-speed manual transmission is responsible for transferring power to the rear wheels.
The vehicle is equipped with an elegant silver coating, a collection of 15-inch Fergat-style wheels coupled with four-wheel finned brakes featuring a three-shoe front configuration. It also boasts Vredestein Sprint Classic tires, upgraded exhaust elements, and convenient push-button doors.
The refurbished interior features grey seating with accents of blue piping, vibrant red carpeting, and a three-spoke steering wheel complete with an Alfa Romeo emblem. It boasts Veglia instrumentation and an odometer displaying 43,000 km (equivalent to 26,718 miles), though the exact mileage is uncertain.
The ongoing offer for the 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint Speciale stands at $70,000 and is set to expire on January 23. This coincides with the closing date of the listing for a low-mileage BMW M1 on BaT. The purchase will also include a service manual, a prestigious car show accolade, an Italian libretto, the certificate of origin, and a pristine Montana title.
