Lamborghini Loses to Truck in Drag Race
The Tesla Cybertruck has finally arrived, and with it comes the tri-motor variant dubbed “Cyberbeast.” It has now been tested against one of the most rapid-accelerating SUVs on the market, the Lamborghini Urus, in a showdown that took place at the Gigafactory in Texas on a newly paved road.
At the same spot where the Tesla Cybertruck had humiliated the GMC Hummer, a competitive duel ensued. All drag and rolling races were dominated by the Tesla vehicle despite its immense weight of 6,843 pounds. Unequivocally, the Lamborghini LM002 undoubtedly felt light in comparison at 4,848 pounds; however, it was still much heavier than the edgy pickup truck.
What the Cyberbeast may lack in aptitude for turning tight corners, it more than compensates for with shapeless muscles. A maximum of 845 hp and 686 lb-ft is generated from its trio of electric engines, giving it a major upgrade when put up against the Urus’ two-turbo 4.0-liter V8 capable of 650 hp and 625 lb-ft. Practical exercises have revealed that the elevated Lamborghini can reach 60 mph right from zero in an unbelievable 3.1 seconds, yet this still fails to make a mark on Tesla’s quotation of only 2.6 seconds for their topmost Cybertruck. This gap of a half second could be felt within these drag battles.
The tri-motor electric pickup was clocked at 11.2 seconds for the quarter mile, with the Uruus needing an additional 1.1 seconds to reach that mark. The rolling races saw a similar result, with the Cybertruck easily leaving the family-friendly Lamborghini far behind in its wake. However, during the braking test from 70 mph, the Urus managed to win one round; its sticky tires and lower weight both likely contributed to this outcome.
