Is it a Prius?
Color us captivated! Toyota Gazoo Racing has uncovered the news that they will be exhibiting an all-new concept vehicle at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans from June 10-11. This significant event is celebrating its 100th anniversary and Toyota’s motorsport section promises to put on quite a spectacle at the iconic Circuit de la Sarthe. Noteworthy among their displays will be the GR Corolla purebred car utilizing a hydrogen-fueled burning engine.
Despite the mystery surrounding Toyota Gazoo Racing’s latest vehicle, we remain eager to find out what is lurking in the shadows. The Japanese automaker has only disclosed that the car is “equipped with vehicle technologies that have been developed through numerous challenges in motorsports.” A closer look at the front bumper reveals that the car is not related to the GR Super Sport hypercar, which was supposedly cancelled following a fiery incident during testing two years ago.
Is this the real answer to the question, ‘What else could it be?’ There’s a suggestion that an automobile manufacturer’s license plate holder indicates something linked with a vehicular production. Don’t think us too loco, however it might be a 2023 Prius masquerading as a competition car. That supposition is predicated on the location of the tow-hook covers located at the front grille – they have a form which resembles ones seen fitted to the market’s hybrid/plug-in hybrid vehicles.
A GR-labelled Prius wouldn’t be too unexpected taking into consideration Toyota have been running the GR Sport Prius in Japan since 2017. Naturally, it’s all speculation from us at this time, but supposing this were indeed a fully legitimate GR Prius as opposed to only possessing a body set plus some emblems?
The Prius has never earlier been considered an alluring automobile till this latest edition. Even having said that, it had never emanated even a semblance of athleticism, so seemingly, Toyota is prepared to add some dazzle into the pioneering hybrid auto, if only on concept-level.
