AMG C 63 S E Performance Transformed into CRE 700 Super Sedan with Tuning Tricks and Exterior Upgrades

The newest and most dominant version of the AMG C 63 is now labeled as the E Performance, and it could easily pass as a top-of-the-line sports sedan from Mercedes-Benz. However, the C 63 has undergone significant changes in this generation, with its AMG hybrid engine only having half the number of cylinders compared to its previous V8 engine. Despite this alteration, German tuner Manhart boasts their capability to revitalize this impressive vehicle by transforming it into the innovative Manhart CRE 700.

The all-new AMG C 63 unquestionably reigns as a dominant force in the sedan market. Its performance capabilities have escalated to impressive new heights, with an astonishing 671 horsepower and a staggering 752 pound-feet of torque from its core engine. According to Mercedes, this robust power enables the AMG C 63 to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds.

The performance sedan scene has been forever altered by the dominating capabilities of the AMG C 63. Yet, it has evolved into a hybrid powerhouse, now referenced as the AMG C 63 S E Performance. The once prominent V8 engine has been replaced by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that employs cutting-edge electrically assisted exhaust gas turbocharging, inspired by Formula One technology. A permanent electric motor situated at the rear axle completes this revolutionary formula.

According to Manhart, the recently introduced four-cylinder engine has caused the C 63 to suffer a major decrease in status. In order to revive the appeal of this sporty sedan, they have developed a refinement package that promises to bring new vitality to the model. This has led to the creation of the Manhart CRE 700, which boasts impressive increases in power and torque.

Even with its impressive power figures, the AMG C 63 S E Performance still has room for improvement according to Manhart. The focus of their optimization efforts was the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine; by implementing their MHtronik additional control unit, they were able to enhance its performance. As a result, the hybrid unit – which consists of the turbocharged four-cylinder engine and electric motor – can now produce an astounding 715 horsepower and 826 lb-ft of torque.

The remarkable numbers of the Manhart CRE 700 do not adequately reflect the true capability of the AMG C 63 S E Performance, especially if the hybrid emits a standard hum from its four-cylinder engine. Therefore, the German tuner has equipped the exhaust system with sports downpipes and 300-cell catalytic converters. As a result, the turbocharged four-cylinder engine of the CRE 700 roars with a newfound vigor, surpassing the sound of its counterpart, the AMG C 63 S E Performance.

Manhart has significantly altered the appearance of the CRE 700 on the outside, choosing to coat the sedan’s body in a sleek black finish. Additionally, they have added their own custom decal set featuring intricate stripes and lettering, similar to the modifications they made to the AMG SL model. The tuner has opted to give the CRE 700 a more intimidating look by darkening all visible chrome elements, including the striking Mercedes emblem on the front and the door handles.

Aside from that, the German customization shop incorporated touches of red on the supercar’s original matte black AMG wheels. In addition, Manhart adorned the rims with Michelin tires, with the measurements of 265/35 ZR20 for the front and 275/35 ZR20 for the rear. Not only that, but the CRE 700 now sits about 20 mm lower, thanks to the utilization of MANHART lowering springs produced by H&R.

Manhart decided not to modify the interior of the AMG C 63 S E Performance, choosing to maintain the bucket seats and red accents. The tuner from Germany confesses that they did not alter the braking system and instead chose to use the original one.
