The Italian brand successfully marketed 6,087 units of the Urus in 2023, establishing itself as the top contributor to Lamborghini’s impressive sales figures. In the following year of 2024, a plug-in hybrid variation of the super-SUV will be introduced, with the company currently giving it final touches. Despite its unconventional disguise resembling a comical rendition of the high-performance family car, the actual design will boast sleek lines that align with the intensified power under the bonnet.

Although the company has not officially announced the specifications for the Urus PHEV, it is likely that it will be equipped with an electrified version of Volkswagen Group’s 4.0-liter V8 engine. This same engine is used in the Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, where it is paired with an electric motor to produce a combined output of 729 horsepower and 700 pound-feet of torque. Given its position in the hierarchy, Lamborghini is expected to have the upper hand in terms of power, meaning the Urus plug-in could potentially be even more powerful.

If you desire a fresh Urus featuring a clean-burning V8 engine, you may have missed your chance. Lamborghini is currently occupied creating the final internal combustion engine models as the whole production has already been purchased before the expected deadline. However, if you intend to make a purchase for the hybrid Urus, the wait won’t be too lengthy, as it is scheduled to be officially unveiled later this year. By the mid-2020s, Lambo aims to electrify its complete line of models.
