X3 M vs Huracán: An Intense Drag Race of Unmatched Speed

Boost Your SUV’s Horsepower with These Simple Bolt-On Upgrades

The BMW X3 M is a remarkably powerful sports utility vehicle. In a direct comparison video by the DragTimes YouTube channel, it is demonstrated that with some modifications, it can successfully rival and outpace a Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica.

The DragTimes YouTube channel does not disclose the precise power output of the BMW, although it is estimated to exceed 700 horsepower. The vehicle is equipped with a 3.0-liter straight-six engine that has been upgraded with a new intake, downpipes, and a tune to maximize the potential of the powerful S58 engine. With a larger body, increased equipment, and added space, the BMW weighs over 1,000 pounds more than the Lamborghini. Thankfully, all-wheel drive is included in its list of features.

In this competition, the Huracán falls short in terms of power, as its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine only generates 640 horsepower. Its seven-speed dual-clutch transmission directs this power to the rear wheels, which is great for maneuverability and enjoyment, but not so much for swift acceleration.

The BMW has proven its capability to match and surpass the power-packed supercar in a series of quarter-mile street races. In two intense duels, it emerged victorious, effortlessly crossing the finish line before its opponent. Furthermore, in the final round, the BMW outspeeded the Huracán, clocking an impressive 10.553 seconds at a blazing speed of 131.55 miles per hour. On the other hand, the Huracán managed a time of 10.583 seconds with a speed of 130.78 mph.

The X3 M kept up with the competition in the two remaining races as well. In the initial run, it achieved a time of 10.819 seconds at a speed of 131.42 mph, which was only a fraction slower than the Lamborghini’s performance. However, in the second drag, the X3 M showed improvement and finished with a time of 10.564 seconds at a speed of 131.46 mph. Meanwhile, the Lamborghini recorded times of 10.583 seconds and 10.530 seconds, reaching speeds of 130.62 mph and 130.75 mph, respectively.
