1200 Horsepower Danger: Quad Powered by V-12 Engine Raises Safety Concerns

A single-shell frame. Carbon-fiber brakes. A titanium exhaust system coated with ceramics. A 1,200-horsepower V-12 engine. It may sound like the blueprint for a cutting-edge hypercar, but it’s actually not. These are just some of the elements present on the latest Engler V12, a four-wheeler that seems more equipped to rival a Bugatti than a Honda TRX250X ATV.

Engler Automotive plans to reveal more information about the engine in the next twelve months. However, it is already known that the engine will generate 700-800 horsepower without any forced induction in its basic configuration, slightly lower than Ferrari’s latest 12-cylinder model. The high-end variant of the enhanced V-12 engine delivers an impressive 1,200 horsepower and 885 pound-feet of torque. The company asserts that the engine will comply with even the most stringent emissions standards, including those in California.

The Engler V12 features a specially crafted eight-speed dual-clutch transmission developed in partnership with the Technical University, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Kosice, Slovakia. Weighing merely 66 pounds, which is only a small portion of its 2,645-pound curb weight, this transmission is an impressive piece of engineering. The Engler is equipped with 20-inch magnesium forged wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, all connected to the chassis using titanium suspension components and exclusive shock absorbers.

The ATV accommodates two passengers on its luxurious leather seats, crafted with the same material as Hermès handbags. Engler customizes the seat according to the customer’s preferences. The vehicle features dual touchscreen displays – one for vehicle information and another for the Apple CarPlay-compatible entertainment system.

Engler conceived the V12 model with no pedals, consolidating all vehicle controls onto the steering column. The height-adjustable windshield is coordinated with the active aerodynamics discreetly integrated into the body. Seatbelts are conspicuously absent—should a collision occur, being ejected may actually be safer than remaining on the quad, since there is no bodywork separating you from the open air.

Engler Automotive manufactures only 10 vehicles annually, however, it aims to boost production with the launch of its latest quad model. Currently, the company is conducting track testing of the V12 before proceeding with public road trials for traffic testing.
