2024 Chevy Equinox EV Starting at $34,995 Confirmed by GM

Chevy Equinox EV: The Budget-Friendly Electric with 319 Mile Range!

Today, General Motors announced revised pricing for the Chevrolet Equinox EV. According to the car manufacturer, the entry-level model of the crossover, known as the Equinox EV 1LT, will have a starting price of $34,995. While this is significantly higher than GM’s initial assurance of a $30,000 base option, there is some positive news regarding federal tax credits that may help offset the cost.Upon its release, the Equinox EV was marketed with a base price of $30,000. However, after careful consideration and evaluation, GM has decided to revise the pricing for the new electric vehicle. The Equinox EV 1LT will now be available at a slightly higher cost of $34,995. Despite the increase in price, there is still reason to be optimistic about the affordability of this electric crossover. The federal government offers tax credits for purchasing electric vehicles, which can potentially reduce the overall cost for buyers. While the exact amount of the credit is subject to various factors and eligibility requirements, it can be a significant contribution towards making the Equinox EV more budget-friendly.In conclusion, General Motors has released updated pricing for the Chevrolet Equinox EV. The base model, Equinox EV 1LT, will now start at $34

According to GM, reservations for most models will open in the near future, but the entry-level option will not be accessible for booking until 2024. An exact date for the availability of the 1LT has not been provided. The Equinox EV 1LT is projected to be the most cost-effective electric vehicle in America, boasting a range of more than 300 miles.

Below is the Manufacturers’ Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the remaining variations of the Equinox EV, including the destination charge. Please note that tax, title, and dealer fees are not included in the prices listed below.

It’s important to mention that the Equinox EV is qualified for the $7,500 federal tax credit. According to GM, this credit can lower the price of the Equinox EV 1LT to as low as $27,495 and the 2LT to $35,795. In their recent statement, GM stated that the next most reasonably priced vehicle, with over 300 miles of range, is the Tesla Model Y Long-Range. After considering the tax credit, its cost comes to just above $40,000.

According to recent reports, GM has officially announced that the Equinox EV AWD has achieved an impressive estimated range of 285 miles as per the EPA. However, specific pricing details for the all-wheel drive option have not yet been disclosed.

If GM fulfills its promises of improved reliability, and if the base Equinox actually reaches the advertised 300 miles, it has the potential to compete with top electric vehicles such as the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Volkswagen ID.4, and the Volvo EX30. Of course, this all depends on whether GM can meet the high demand and efficiently produce a large number of EVs.

According to the latest update from GM CEO Mary Barra in her Q3 2023 earnings letter to shareholders, the Equinox EV launch has been pushed back by a few months. Barra stated that the company had to slow down the production of electric vehicles in North America in order to maintain competitive pricing, adapt to a decrease in demand in the near future, and implement measures to increase engineering efficiency and reduce production costs for improved profitability.

The FWD models of the Equinox EV are equipped with a powerful 213-horsepower electric motor, while the AWD versions boast an even higher output at 288 hp thanks to their dual-motor configuration. The former has a decent acceleration time of 7.9 seconds from 0 to 60 miles per hour, but the AWD can complete the same feat in just 5.9 seconds.

The Equinox EV is currently being manufactured at the Ramos Arizpe assembly plant in Mexico, and it is anticipated that shipments will commence by the middle of 2024.

GM has recently announced the price confirmation for the Equinox EV, which coincides with some exciting developments in the lower end of the electric vehicle market. Tesla, on the other hand, is gearing up to release their next EV, codenamed “Redwood,” which is projected to be a more affordable option for the mass market and is set to hit the market in 2025. In a surprising move, Ford revealed last week that a specialized team, known as the “super talented skunkworks team,” has been covertly working on a cost-effective EV platform for the past two years, separate from the main “Ford mothership.”
