Cheaper Electrified G80 for $74,375 Starting Price
For 2024, the cost of entering the electrified Genesis G80 has been significantly reduced, further boosting the desirability of this luxurious battery-powered saloon.
To reach a more accessible price point, Genesis has implemented the Advanced at their entry-level. Costing $74,375 before taxes, it serves as the most affordable Electrified G80 available in the US. Thus far, no official details have been made public by Hyundai’s luxury arm. Although, from examining the 2024 configurator, we can deduce that the base model operates on the Prestige’s drivetrain. It is worth noting that all prices listed are already excluding Genesis’ handling fee of $1,195.
This can result in 365 hp, 516 lb-ft of torque, as well as an approximated 282 miles range due to the 87.2 kWh battery. The Advanced version, even though it is the foundation, comes with numerous amenities as standard equipment.
Nineteen-inch rims, leather-trimmed seating, poweroperated and heated/ventilating front seats, wireless charging facility, a matte wooden interior, navigational capability, multiple driver aids and plenty more come standard.
There is some encouraging news for purchasers interested in the upgraded Prestige iteration of the Genesis Electrified G80. The cost for this particular option has a ceiling of $79,125, which, although it may seem insignificant, is still a whopping $600 less than the cost of its corresponding unit from the previous year. This reduction in price is especially refreshing when taking into account that a plethora of competitors have responded by upping their prices in light of the current financial climate.
The Prestige boasts all the amenities found in the Advanced version together with Nappa leather upholstery, a surround-view monitor, three-zone air conditioning, and a suede microfiber headliner and pillars décor. Furthermore, Genesis has declared that in its MY2024 collection, white-colored brake callipers, a wireless hotspot, and Leather-based furnishing come as standard gear.
We assume that, due to ineligibility for the EV tax credit, Genesis is looking to keep the cost of the G80 Electrical sedans competitive; notably, the starting price of the BMW i5 (eDrive40) is lower than that of the G80 Electrified at $66,800.
The Mercedes EQE 350+ Sedan retails for a price of $74,900, however it is slightly more potent, with 288 horsepower and a torque of 417 lb-ft. It also promises a greater declared scope, coming in at 305 miles.
Genesis provides nine external hues, a number of which demand a supplementary charge. Makalu Grey Matte, for instance, is priced $1,500. Three inner finishes are offered and all may be requested without incurring extra costs. Distinct from the competition, the Electrified G80 is fully fit with features. Consequently, only an array of extras are obtainable for selection by purchasers.
The GV60 crossover is being offered at a reduced cost, bringing its value down closer to the reach of many. There is now a model available with basic RWD standard features for only $52,000, which will definitely be attractive to potential buyers.
Anticipation is growing as we await the arrival of the revised Electrified G80. It is supposed that it will become available to purchase before 2021 comes to a close. As more information becomes available, we are keen to be informed.
