Honda has just released the latest version of their Pilot SUV for the 2025 model year, and it comes with a captivating price tag below $40,000. This exciting release also features a new Black Edition trim as its central highlight.The highly anticipated 2025 Pilot SUV from one of the top players in the automobile industry is already making waves with its affordable starting price of under $40,000. Moreover, Honda has added a new Black Edition trim to bring an extra touch of sophistication to this latest offering.

In the congested category that is home to the Toyota Grand Highlander, Mazda CX-90, and Hyundai Palisade, the midsize SUV with room for three rows is encountering intense competition. The Pilot range has been expanded to include six versions, one of which is the TrailSport model geared towards off-road adventures, and another being the recently introduced Black Edition. Unfortunately, the lowest tier LX option has been removed from the lineup.

The cost for a Pilot starts at $39,900 and can go up to $54,280 not including the cost of shipping. All versions of the Pilot come equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers 285 horsepower and is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Black Edition is the latest addition to the Pilot lineup, surpassing both the Elite and TrailSport models in terms of prestige. With a starting price of $54,280, it is intended for those seeking the top tier of luxury. Similar to its counterparts, the Black Edition can only be equipped with all-wheel drive featuring variable torque management.

“Introducing the Black Edition to the Honda Pilot truly guarantees that our top-of-the-line family SUV maintains its position as the industry leader in the midsize 3-row SUV category,” stated Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president of Honda National Auto Sales.

Aesthetically, it sets itself apart through its glossy black 20-inch alloy wheels and the darkened design of the grille bar, wing mirror caps, window surrounds, door garnish, rear bumper garnish, and front air ducts. The vehicle also features distinctive Black Edition emblems on both the front and rear ends.

The interior of the Black Edition may not be entirely black as initially assumed. Rather, this edition features unique red-accented perforated leather trim, red contrast stitching, and red accent lighting for the dashboard, doors, and center console. Additional Black Edition logos can be found on the front seats and floor mats.

The TrailSport is making a comeback with an enhanced focus on off-road capabilities. This new version boasts lifted suspension, 18-inch wheels equipped with all-terrain tires, and a variety of underbody protection features. Inside, exclusive orange accents and badging add a touch of flair to the interior.

Honda is offering the option for purchasers to personalize their SUV with the HPD Package extending to all trims. This post-manufacturing bundle, available at dealerships, includes either black or bronze HPD wheels, HPD center caps, lower door trimming, and HPD graphics. It comes with a base cost of $2,000 for the TrailSport version.

Safety is a top priority with the inclusion of Honda Sensing safety technology, which comes as a standard feature on all models. This suite of advanced safety features includes automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, road departure mitigation, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control.
