The now-late Danny Gans’ 1967 Ford Mustang Eleanor imitation is listed for auction at the upcoming Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas Auction; if you’re a devotee of the legendary Mustang and have admiration for the talented performer, comedian, and actor, then this is absolutely the automotive to invested in.

Gans was renowned as an automobile accumulator, yet following his premature passing in 2009, his kin sold the majority of his classic muscle vehicles. Despite this, they contended with keeping this one automobile. Therefore, it can be speculated that this was perhaps Gans’ beloved car.

“Danny was an undeniable icon in Las Vegas and a man of many talents,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “He was also renowned for his passion for cars, and the vehicle he had constructed in 2002 is a true work of art. Jackson is optimistic that this car will be a major draw at the upcoming 2023 Las Vegas Auction, taking place June 22-24. With its great appeal and remarkable provenance, this car is sure to fetch a tidy sum.

Plenty of Eleanor replicas exist, but the only “authentic” models were built by Cinema Vehicle Services (CVS), who constructed the original movie car. This is why Gans commissioned CVS to build his own in 2002, and it will be sold with a certificate of authenticity. This car is a replica of the one Nicolas Cage famously drove over stationary vehicles on the Vincent Thomas Bridge in California. The story of how they chose the car names is quite cool.

This illustration has a four-hundred-horsepower 351 Windsor V8 linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. The powerplant also has Clay Smith camshafts, cast pistons, a Holley 50CFM two-pump four-barrel carburetor and a high-performance intake manifold.

The direction is aided by a power source, and the vehicle possesses modern disc brakes to temper it considerably. Furthermore, contemporary suspension elements such as 620 springs, KYB shocks, and amended A-arms all contribute to the mix. Barrett-Jackson contends that the configuration has been adjusted for peak geometry.

Nevertheless, we find it hard to conceive that too much gas will be required to make the 17×9.5-inch backwheels spin around.

The stylish interior provides Shelby-style front seating, a classic AM/FM radio with cassette capabilities, and four speakers; plus, to enhance one’s driving experience, there is also a contemporary advantage: Vintage Air climate control for when those California temperatures rise.

Upgrades include bespoke gauges, a wood-made Lecarra wheel branded with the Shelby emblem, and even a floor-based center console.
