The Last Teaser: No More!
Dodge continues to tantalize us with teasers for their upcoming Last Call special edition model, set to be revealed on March 20, 2023, at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. All of the previous teaser videos in the series have promised that this will be the most extreme Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat model ever built from the factory. In their most recent teaser, ‘Trip Wire,’ Dodge has offered us the “final clue to the DNA of the ultimate Dodge vehicle.”
The footage portrays the reoccurring, unsettling leprechaun figure walking out of an airplane above Las Vegas. Subsequently, he glances at his timepiece displaying a shocking 140 mph before impulsively leaning in and quickly streaming downward as the speedometer goes blurry. Is this potentially some sort of acceleration mechanism? It remains rather uncertain.
Gleaning from existing data, it seems likely that the ultimate Last Call variant would have a maximum velocity capacity of 215mph, enabled by its 1,582HP engine. This estimation certainly makes the 140mph teased in this newest preview appear quite unambitious.
Teaser clips suggested an increase in strength from the usual Hellcat model, which is equipped with a 6.2-Liter supercharged Hemi V8. This powertrain is likely to be the same one used in the Demon, offering greater pressure and elevating the new Dodge to become the most proficient motorcar they’ve ever made – and it possibly burns E85 fuel.
Just days prior to the big unveiling, we are offering one more teaser (although we said this previously). This is the final Challenger of the present generation and then an all-electrical alternative will be declared. Dodge will embrace a combustion engine-free future, as both the Charger and Challenger models retire after the 2023 model year. Although it is heartbreaking to see them disappear, they have been available to us for nearly two decades and so now it is time for Dodge to press forward.
Be on the lookout next Monday to find out what Dodge has to show. It’s sure to be something fantastic!
