Speed Academy has chosen to give the Toyota GR Corolla a unique spin by outfitting it with some modifications that will amplify its driving speed. This endeavour saw the employ of the limited edition Morizo Edition GR Corolla, an automobile that is one of only ten in existence in Canada – rarer even than a Lexus LFA (specifically within Canada).

For this swift and facile assembly, the specialists at Velocity Academy opted for a transformation of the suspension by swapping out the OEM monotube dampers and springs with the Annex ClubSpec Pro coilovers.

After conquering several obstacles regarding the shock mount’s pattern, Speed Academy asserts their modern cushioning mechanism offers improved performance on the way.

The Morizo Edition GR Corolla has become even more lightweighted with the integration of Apex VS-5RS wheels. Each wheel weighs 18.2 pounds, a lighter alternative than standard. Furthermore, they have been fitted with Continental ExtremeContact Force rubber, remaining within the stock 245/40/R18 size in order to avoid any suspension clashes.

They replaced the Morizo Edition’s factory spoiler with a unit acquired from the less powerful GR Corolla Circuit Edition. This upgrade gives the automobile a sportier aspect while still boasting a standard OEM fit and finish.

Rather than equipping the Toyota hatchback with an aftermarket intake, the team opted to suspend that plan due to certain issues being experienced when replacing the issuance intake.

Rather than upgrading to an MBRP cat-back exhaust, Speed Academy opted for a center-mounted three-inch system instead. Although this alteration has improved the appearance, it won’t be demonstrated on the dynamometer since the most substantial result is an augmented decibel level.
