Exponential Demand for Lamborghini’s Debut Hybrid Model
Lamborghini recently announced that the Revuelto has received an overwhelming number of orders, ensuring production for the model until 2026. This comes as no surprise as the highly anticipated plug-in hybrid supercar was completely sold out for a staggering two years prior to its official debut in March 2023.
The most recent sales report from Lamborghini has confirmed the ongoing expansion of their waiting list. According to the report, 10,112 cars were sold in 2023, exceeding the previous year’s record sales by more than 10%.
Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expressed his pride in the company’s recent accomplishment of delivering over 10,000 cars. He stated, “It’s a true source of pride for the whole company to have surpassed the 10,000-car delivery mark.” Winkelmann also emphasized the significance of this milestone for Lamborghini, stating that it is an honor for him and all the hardworking individuals who contributed to this achievement. He acknowledged the dedication and effort of the team in reaching this goal.
Lamborghini is not one to become complacent, as we have seen time and time again with their continuous introduction of enhanced versions of each model they release. Potential buyers who have a passion for these high-performance vehicles may prefer to hold off on purchasing the new V12 supercar, as there are rumors that it will eventually be available in SuperVeloce or even SuperVeloce Jota editions – a common practice for the Italian automaker when it comes to special models.
The initial cost without any additional features for this vehicle is approximately $610,000, and while that may seem like a staggering amount, it has not deterred patrons of Lamborghini from reaching for their wallets. Considering the impressive engine noise, one can understand why such a high price is warranted.
The Revuelto marks the arrival of the sixth Lamborghini with a powerful V12 engine and is hailed as the world’s first V12 plug-in hybrid. It boasts a 6.5-liter V12 engine that works in harmony with three electric motors, resulting in an impressive output of 1,001 horsepower. The V12 alone can generate a torque of 535 lb-ft, but the electric motors add an additional 332 lb-ft to its performance. This remarkable power is distributed to all four wheels through a brand new eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Lamborghini proudly claims that the Revuelto can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds and reach a top speed of over 217 mph.
Despite the Revuelto’s significant contribution to sales, Sant’Agata is eagerly awaiting the release of the Huracan’s successor which is predicted to have a wider market reach and a more reasonable price point. The much-anticipated entry-level Lambo is set to be launched towards the end of this year.
