BMW M4/Hybrid V8 Racers
Exciting news for those madly devoted to Lego and cars! It seems that the German retailer JB Spielwaren may have spilled the beans on the imminent unveiling of the latest Lego Speed Champions collection. The range consists of a Ford Mustang, two BMWs, in addition to the Audi S1 E-Tron concept car. Unfortunately, you might have to hang tight until 2020 before they are available to purchase.
BMW is forever remembered in brick form with the M4 GT3 and the M Hybrid V8, assembled as one set. The authentic M Hybrid was expected in June 2022 and is prepped to contend at Le Mans in 2023. The M4 GT3 surfaced earlier on, revealed toward the beginning of 2021.
The German style prevails with Audi. Their incredible S1 E-Tron Quattro, also known as the Hoonitron, is on offer packaged as a 274-piece set. It looks like Audi is going for a design that does not involve Ken Block; sadly, he passed away at the start of 2023. We remain on standby anticipating Block’s eventual Gymkhana featuring the Hoonitron, which was recorded in late 2022 and should arrive sometime this month.
Finally, muscle car enthusiasts now have the opportunity to put their own spin on Ford Mustang’s seventh-generation lineup with a new Lego kit. The 2024 Dark Horse is a bright blue representation of the iconic vehicle that requires 334 pieces in its assemblage. This iteration offers 500 horsepower from its 5.0-liter V8 engine, making it the top of the range-just beneath the extreme GTD form which boasts 800 hp.
According to JB Speilwaren, the Mustang and Audi sets may not become available until March. The BMW set can potentially launch in January, and while prices for European customers are specified, US costs have yet to be disclosed. Bearing in mind previous Speed Champions kits, one can anticipate that the rates will likely be between $20 and $40.
