March Debut for All-New Electric Dodge Charger Daytona Model

Dodge Executive’s Announcement at J.D. Power Auto Summit Sparks Interest in Las Vegas

According to sources, the upcoming Charger Daytona EV is set to make its first appearance on March 5. At the J.D. Power Auto Summit in Las Vegas, Matt McAlear, Dodge’s senior vice president of sales and marketing, disclosed this news to Automotive News.

The Dodge Charger, which was first introduced in 1966, is now making a shift towards electric models after being discontinued just last year. Despite this major change, the automaker remains confident and optimistic. According to McAlear, “This is the next generation of muscle.”

“We are not aiming for the lowest drag coefficient, nor are we striving for the highest mileage,” he stated. “Our goal is to genuinely establish a new standard.”

According to previous reports, the highly anticipated Charger Daytona EV is set to deliver impressive performance, thanks to its 800V Banshee propulsion system which is said to be “faster than a Hellcat in all key performance measures.” Executives from Dodge have confirmed that there will be nine different outputs available, all of which will be enhanced through the use of Direct Connection performance parts.

Even with their move towards electric vehicles, Dodge is committed to replicating the traditional driving experience of an internal combustion engine (ICE) car. To achieve this, they have developed the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, which creates a variety of exhaust sounds. The system is capable of reaching up to 126 decibels in volume. In addition, Dodge plans to include simulated gearshifts, inspired by the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, to further enhance the driving feel.

According to reports, a potential substitute for traditional internal combustion engines (ICE) is currently being developed. Rumors suggest that this new alternative could feature a Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six engine. Along with the already announced electric version, both options are expected to utilize Stellantis’ STLA Large Platform. This platform is said to have a remarkable range of up to 500 miles and can achieve an impressive 0-62 mph acceleration in just 2 seconds. Dodge boasts that this platform has the capability to surpass the current performance of any Hellcat V8 engine on the market.

Although there have been numerous sightings of the unreleased electric Charger, McAlear assures that it will closely resemble the final version. The design team made minor adjustments to certain elements, such as the wheels and side mirrors, in order to comply with regulations. Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer for Dodge to reveal the highly anticipated next-generation Charger. Let’s eagerly await the official release date.
