Mini Aceman Spies in Hot Weather with Funky Camo.

Launching Electric Crossover in 2021

The next advancement of the Mini Aceman is now progressing, with trials being undertaken in Europe in scorching heat. Our photographers at the scene observed an exemplar of this electric automobile, displaying a fresh type of camouflage in substitution for its previous yellow-on-black colouring. In addition, the Aceman featured a novel wheel design with five double-spoke spokes.

At first look, this could come off as a Mini that’s the size of a Countryman. Even though there is something to be said for that, whispers suggest that Mini have decided to give the new Countryman an even bigger profile due to its relationship with the BMW X1. In doing so, it creates more of a boundary between the Mini Hatchback and the Countryman, which makes the Aceman an ideal mid-size option in the lineup.

Whilst the classic hatchback and Countryman look set to receive both combustion as well as electric powertrains, the Aceman has been planned as an exclusively electric rendition. A recent report claims that it would be made available in two formats. Dubbed the Aceman E, this being the basic version comes powered by a sole front-mounted electric motor capable of producing up to 181 horsepower (131 kW). Furthermore, it has been equipped with a 40 kWh battery pack allowing for a maximum reach in between charges up to 300 kilometers (186 mi) according to the WLTP cycle.

If you are looking for a more powerful model, the Aceman SE is said to offer 215 hp (160 kW) and a larger 54-kWh battery. This reputed pack should provide up to 249 miles (400 km) of WLTP-certified range. Evidently, the specs of this vehicle bear similarities to those of the Mini Cooper Electric. Furthermore, rumors suggest that Mini will introduce the Aceman as a practical crossover alternative to their classic hatchbacks.

In September, Mini will introduce its updated model line-up to the world. At IAA Munich, the automaker will unveil the hatchback and Countryman whilst the Aceman is projected to be produced and ready in the early part of 2021. However, there is no definitive word on whether this all-electric vehicle will be distributed throughout the United States.
