Celebrating 100 Years with Schmohl AG & Bentley
Bentley has set a bold goal of transforming itself into an all-electric motorcar business by 2030, although this shift would be out of the question without the allies that have allowed the British luxury car manufacturer to weather the storms of life. Especially noteworthy is Schmohl AG, Bentley’s retail partner in Zurich, for whom the brand has recently put forth a stunning centenary collection.
Renowned for its craftsmanship and authenticity, Bentley Mulliner has launched a special 100th Anniversary Collection. Founded on the basis of four Bentley models – Bentayga S, Flying Spur Speed, Continental GT, and Continental GTC Speed – an entirely new, Slate Blue Metallic exterior color, coordinating Styling Specification and ‘100’ welcome lamps have been added to the range to customize the offering.
In contrast, while most designs feature a rear spoiler, the unique Bentayga was released this month having been customized to commemorate diversity and inclusion.
Venturing into the vehicle’s interior, Bentley merges Cognac primary leather and Beluga secondary hide with diamond quilted contrast stitching. The instrument panel and door panels are appointed with Copper Stone double-finish veneer, complete with Diamond Knurling Pattern adornment for the brightwork as a standard feature. Finally, to acknowledge the highly esteemed milestone, headrests are adorned with the ‘100’ insignia.
There were no modifications to the performance announced in the statement. We are aware that the models either feature a 4.0-liter V8 Twin-Turbo, or a W12 motor. However, the latter is being replaced by its electrical alternative, with production of the model ceasing by April 2021.
“A centenary is a key milestone and a special celebration. Schmohl AG, formed in 1923, can proudly look back on a partnership with Bentley that began the same year when the Bentley 3 Litre became the first car to compete at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, setting the fastest lap in the process. To commemorate this momentous occasion, the company has released the 100 Anniversary Collection cars, which come with exclusive features to pay homage to their special relationship,” said Roderick Pike, General Manager of Bentley Zurich.
“We are thrilled to be commemorating this landmark with Bentley Zurich, who have been a part of our family since 1950. Switzerland is a significant market for Bentley Motors Europe and with this selection we are honoring and emphasizing our accomplishments over the decades. At the same time, with our Beyond100 strategy, we are also looking forward to an electrified range by 2024,” said Balazs Rooz, Regional Director of Bentley Motors Europe.
